FoodFestival aan de Zaan is a free and accessible festival that brings people together through food, culture, and connection. What began ten years ago as a small initiative on a single street along the Zaan River has grown into an annual event that draws thousands of visitors. Visitors of all ages and backgrounds find a place to enjoy, discover, and connect.
We believe that food connects. Not just through taste, but also through the story behind it. That's why we collaborate with kitchens and creators from different cultures and continents, prioritizing authenticity and diversity. The festival is a reflection of the Zaan region itself: colorful, inclusive, and full of energy.
Behind the scenes, FoodFestival aan de Zaan is organized by the FoodFestival aan de Zaan Foundation, in collaboration with local businesses, cultural partners, volunteers, and students. We consciously choose local partnerships, both on the ground and within the organization, to create connections behind the scenes and nurture talent.
Besides food and drinks, there's plenty of room for music, culture, and experiences. From live music and DJs to children's activities and cultural programming for all ages. With each edition, we continue to evolve, focusing on inclusivity, accessibility, and social engagement.

FoodFestival aan de Zaan is more than just a food festival. It's a day where flavors, cultures, and people converge on the Zaan River. Our offerings are diverse, accessible, and carefully curated, so everyone feels welcome and can enjoy them in their own way.
World food trucks
More than 70 food trucks and stalls bring cuisines from all corners of the globe to Wormerveer. From authentic family recipes to surprising street food dishes, you'll experience cultures, stories, and traditions prepared by passionate artisans.
Drinks and bars
From local beers and soft drinks, to wine, coffee, and non-alcoholic options, our drinks selection is as diverse as the festival itself and is provided by local businesses who know how to combine atmosphere and quality.
Music and culture
Spread across the grounds, you'll find several music and cultural venues. With a mix of DJs, live music, dance, and performances by local talent, we'll create energy, relaxation, and a vibrant atmosphere throughout the afternoon and evening. In collaboration with Podium de Flux, among others, we'll be providing a platform for creativity and cultural expression from the Zaan region.
Children's Square
For our youngest visitors, there's a completely free children's playground with attractions, games, and creative entertainment. Here, children can explore, move, and have fun while parents relax and enjoy the festival.
Meeting and atmosphere
Along the Zaan River, we're creating an open and inviting setting with seating, rest areas, and spaces to meet. Whether you're stopping by for a short visit or staying all day, the festival adapts to your pace.
